In March of 2015, while out for a fun day of flying my drone trying to capture some Spring Break Beach footage I happened to capture pieces of an unfortunate event. Tampa Bay's ABC Action News caught wind of the event and sat me down for an interview. Check it out here:
Cell phone video of a beach brawl on St. Pete Beach has gone viral.
Spring breakers are seen cheering on a Pinellas County deputy as he takes down two men Sunday.
Justin D. Lewis, 24, and Joshua McMahan, 25, both of St. Petersburg, were charged with disorderly conduct and battery on a law enforcement officer. Both have been released on bond.
Now we’re finding out there’s another angle of the fight.
“I was about a good 250 yards from where the fight happened. All I heard was a little bit of commotion and I saw a crowd and flew it over,” said Anthony Bove.
Bove an aspiring photographer with ABIII Visuals happened to be flying his drone overhead.
“That was my second flight of the day,” said Bove.
He says his intention to post the video on YouTube was not to promote violence, rather “the fact I captured it on my drone and it can be used for something that could be beneficial for people,”; said Bove.
Bove believes his footage shows how the officer was out numbered.
